The Falling Rock Boy Scout Bridge

·  Location: over the Rocky Fork Creek

·  Material: cast and wrought iron with a wood deck

·  Builder: McNairy, Claflen and Company

Originally in Perry Township and in Hebron before being moved to its current location. Designed by S.S. Post during the Civil War and built in the early 1870’s. The bridge is in desperate need of repairs, with broken cast iron members, rusted floor beams and collapsing foundations.

As per David Simmons, OHS, in his 1984 article in the Ohio County Engineer magazine, there are two Post designed bridges in Massachusetts and one in Indiana
