  • Fifth grade students in the Newark City Schools are making ceramic tiles every year to coat the walls of the tunnels. This will help keep our tunnels free of vandalism.

    These two tunnels will connect the Newark to Johnstown Trail with the trail through Newark along Rt.#16 and Raccoon Creek. The Reddington Road Tunnel is 96 feet long and the Cherry Valley Road Tunnel is 88 feet long. These tunnels have a clear height of eight feet and clear width of ten feet. They are precast concrete in eight foot lengths.
